Need I say more?

Well this is what I am thinking today. . . . .

ABC Quilt

Well this quilt is going on the long arm as we speak . . . this is from Terri Atkinson's book Fat Quarter Fonts. I did "fake" applique with steam-a-seam. I'm trying to adjust to the xmas music on the radio -- LOTS of it on 102.9? :-) We might get our tree today.

jingle bells jingle bells...

These blocks might look familiar to Melva...Babes exchanged them on a christmas past. Nancy has Jan's, so she gave me hers, unfinished....so filled my sled with quilt pillows (?). The only christmas thing I have out so far...the mood hasn't hit at this house yet.
Hope everyone had a nice TG. Even splitting leftovers among all of us, there are still too many.

American Patchwork and quilting mag

Do you gals get the APQ magazine? Mine came today, so of course I carried the groceries in the house first, and then sat on the steps and looked thru it before I could put anything away. ( I don't even know what I did with the rest of the mail-who cares)
There is a biiiiiiggg blue scrappy quilt in it called band together. Well, I have to look way past the blue as that is not my favorite quilting color...but wouldn't that quilt be a great way to use just
multicolored scrappy strips up? Oh yea, and lap size, not king. Should the setting blocks be light or dark....maybe medium to dark....and mix the lights in the strips??? I'm going to be dreaming of quilts tonight.

Having fun being distracted

I have been having fun being distracted with the Santa thread catcher and peppermint patty pincushion. It is a gigantic pincushion -- I will have to buy more pins! It is fun and pretty silly since it is out for a month but maybe Christmas will be year round. Doesn't he just make you laugh?
I also am posting some of my Dear Jane exchange blocks. We each have picked our own themes. So at least I am not making 20 of the exact same things. As you can see I am seeing stars.
And finally my lastest farmer's wife blocks. Need to get back to them but think the holidays will take my attention.
Any hints on putting pictures in, word wrap, etc are welcomed.

I agree I can't wait for the re-issues of the civil war fabric that will be coming in February. Will have to get them elsewhere.
Can't wait to see Ruby Red Dots.....AND some inchies.......
Remind me never to make a king size quilt top again, what a wrestling match just to press it!
But am done and now I can move on. Maybe to some christmas projects, and the' there somewhere but not forgotten' Farmer's wife blocks. I think the farmers wife quilt is good size...maybe we could just make them into two quilts?
Has everyone got the turkey out to thaw?

Friday, November 20, 2009

Well my Ruby Red Dots is progressing . . .I think maybe the dots are getting to me?? :-) Have all the blocks completed and am now working on the borders. Lots of leaves so that is easy. Jean I am wondering how the "inchie" quilt is coming along?

Looking Back

Finally, Brannock and Patek are coming out with a new fabric line that are reprints from some of their older lines.....all the fabric we loved and used up, OR missed all together. Another chance!
Isn't that strange how we hate to use up some of the little scraps of our favorite pieces, even if we really know there are more and more new pieces just ahead? Is that fabric hoarding?? oh oh

blocks

Well, this farmers wife is sure fun....I want to spend my time doing them.
The Women of Influence Quilt will certainly cover the bed, and maybe half of Plymouth. This block is 25 inches....

Fan quilt

This is the project I am working on and am pondering what to do . The border fabric that I had is not working so am thinking just to add a wider binding or small border and binding ...This is really old fabric from a bin under my bed...bad karma that I am wanting to be done with. Melva

antique quilts

these were on the Jo Morton blog. Love the one with everything the quilter could do on one quilt!
The log cabin is great, do you see the stripes used in it...doesn't it look like the one we saw at the quilt show at Minnetonka art center Melva?

Let's Quilt

Sew what's new? Just wanted to show you my latest Ruby Red Dots blocks -- I am halfway done. Easy to applique and of course I love the colors. I want to get this quilt done by Christmas? :-)

Hey, a new blog!

I "think" I just created a blog for Sue, Bev P, Jean and Melva to post day to day quilting
chatter on. I would like to post some pics of my farmer's wife blocks as I do them...ahem...WILL do them. We can inspire each other or...egg each other on. We are all authors so all can post in it.
Others can be added if we wish.
This can be a great quilt (or needlework) progress blog.....let's use it!! talk soon Bev c
